Frequently Asked Questions
1. Where are the classes located?
- On Tuesdays and Thursdays, classes are located at the Veterans Memorial Building in Culver City, in the Iksan Room. On Saturdays, classes are located at the Culver West Alexander Park in the recreation room.
2. How do I enroll?
- To enroll, you can either visit the recreation office in the Veterans Memorial Building in Culver City or go to https://apm.activecommunities.com/culvercity
3. Can I enroll at any time?
- Yes! We will welcome you at any time! However, if you enroll within 1 week of an upcoming performance, your dancer may not be able to participate in the performance.
4. How much is tuition?
- For dancers ages 3-8, tuition is $50/month. For dancers ages 9-17, tuition is $80/month.
5. How can I pay?
- You can pay online at https://apm.activecommunities.com/culvercity or in person at the Veterans Memorial Building in the recreation office.
6. What kind of dances do you teach?
- We teach ballet, jazz, lyrical, and hip hop! We also base our classes on what our students are interested in!
7. Does my child have to have experience?
- No prior dance experience is needed! We welcome dancers of all experience levels.
8. What should my child wear to class?
- Dancers should be wearing clothes and footwear that is easy to move in. Leggings, yoga pants, jazz pants, gym shorts, sweatpants, t-shirts, tank tops, tennis shoes, ballet shoes, and/or jazz shoes are perfect! If your dancer has a leotard and/or tutu they want to wear, they are more than welcome to! Jeans and flip flops will not work for class. Look on the "parent's corner" page for the type of shoe that is recommended.
9. How old does my child have to be?
- Your child can begin classes at the age of 3 all the way up to the age of 17! If you're young adult turns 18, they can stay in classes! As long as your young adult is in high school, they can stay in classes.
10. Will more classes be added to the schedule?
- If there is no current class time or day that works for your child's schedule, suggest one! If we get at least four students interested in your class day and time, we can add it to the schedule! You can suggest classes by taking our survey, emailing us, or using the contact us form on our about us page.
