Program Director/Dance Teacher

Miss Ryann

My name is Ms. Ryann. I graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a B.A. in Liberal Studies with a Special Education emphasis. I am currently pursing my Masters degree in Special Education. I am a credentialed teacher and teach 6th grade special education for LAUSD throughout the school day. I have 3 years experience as a classroom teacher and 8 years experience working in the school setting as an infant and toddler caregiver, K-8 after school counselor, teacher’s assistant, paraprofessional, and behavioral therapist.

I have 16 years of dance experience. I started dancing at the age of 2 and continued until the age of 18. I studied ballet, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, cheerleading, African, yoga, and folk dance techniques. I was on the advanced dance team in high school as well as participated in a competitive dance team for numerous years resulting in many titles and awards. I have gone to dance workshops and studied under acclaimed choreographers such as Lauriann Gibson and Mia Michaels. I also taught and choreographed for dancers ranging in ages from 3-12 years old for 4 years. I have stayed active through dance and continue to take dance classes.

My goals for the class are to instill not only a love of dance in your children and young adults but to also promote positive body image, increased sense of self, and healthy living. Overall, I want the students to have fun while learning new things!
